Josh's White Lightning is now an Orvis Pattern

Having a pattern appear in the Orvis catalog is a dream of many fly tiers. That dream came true for Project Healing Waters own Josh Williams when the Orvis Company selected his Josh's White Lightning Pattern to appear in their 2011 catalog.

Josh began fly fishing with Project Healing Waters in 2006. To say he was a natural is an understatement. He embraced the challenge and even decided to learn to tie his own flies despite having only one arm. In 2008 he tied his first Woolly Bugger and hasn't left the vise since. He quickly adapted and honed his skills and in 2010 opened DeadDriftFlies.com where he sold his work. His Josh's White Lighting caught the eye of an Orvis executive during a fishing tournament after Josh had particularly hot run and he was asked to submit the pattern.

Josh's determination and optimism remind us what these injured vets are capable of accomplishing through our program. Congratulations Josh. This is an extraordinary achievement.
