Brigadoon Lodge — North Georgia
October 21-24, 2008

The Carolina's PHW chapter was proud to sponsor an event from November 21st-24th at Brigadoon Lodge in North Georgia's beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest. The event was sponsored by Mr. Ed Dunne and Mr. Alan Kuntzman, both of Michigan.
The event was attended by wounded veterans Brian Mancini, Don Overton, and Frank Campanaro. The event sponsors, Ed and Alan enjoyed their time getting to know the veterans, sharing laughs, and learning of their courageous stories. They also caught VERY big trout!

Brigadoon is frequently referred to as the most exclusive private trout water in the United States and counts President Jimmy Carter, Ted Turner, Bono, Robert Rubin, and now PHWFF vets as its celebrity clientele. The fishing was great with fish caught from all vets and guests ranging from 22" inch Rainbow Trout to 31" Brown Trout!
Chris Smith and I hosted and guided the veterans on the fabled Brigadoon waters. Thank you Chris, both your time and attitude toward making this a special event!
The food was equally as special as Frank Campanaro, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, prepared dishes such as quiche, biscuits (from scratch) and gravy (made from a rhue), pheasant stew, Cornish game hens, stuffed peppers and squash, brie, caviar, and great wine! Frank provided stream side lunches and hot coffee on radio command! My thanks to Frank, former US Army Ranger, for his efforts! Frank's presence was special to me as he and I served in the 3rd Ranger Battalion together from 1989-1993. Frank is a veteran's advocate and helps to raise millions each year for veteran's causes. Rangers Lead The Way!

Rebekah Stewart, owner of Brigadoon Lodge, hosted an early Thanksgiving celebration for our entire party in the extraordinary main lodge! She also greatly reduced her rates to make this event possible. Due to her moving
experience with our PHW vets, she has offered to host a holiday event for PHWFF veterans that is currently being planned. Thanks Rebekah for both your hospitality and for your admiration of our nation's wounded veterans!
