Jana Brown is the owner of Allegany Hearing & Balance, LLC, with offices in Cumberland and Oakland, Maryland. She was awarded her Doctor of Audiology Degree in 2004 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, AZ. She also holds a Master of Science Degree from West Virginia University. Dr. Brown is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology. She is the past president of the Maryland Academy of Audiology and served on their executive board for six years. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology and recently received her second Scholar Award. She is also a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and was recently presented with the Leo Doerfler Award to “commemorate the outstanding clinical services that she has provided in her community throughout her career.” She has served on the executive board of the Dove Center, the local domestic violence and sexual assault center. She also serves on her church’s finance committee.
Dr. Brown has been practicing Audiology since 1983 and was an industrial audiologist for the first eight years working in a steel mill and nuclear shipyard. Her father was a WWII Naval Dive Bomber, flying a Curtiss SB2C Helldiver, and was held captive by the Japanese the last six months of the war. She resides in Oakland with her husband, Harold Harsh, Jr., a fly fishing guide and former Marine, and Fae and Gracie, their cat and dog. Dr. Brown enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, fly fishing, and gardening.
