Lynnwood, WA—On February 15, 2014, Derek Bachmann, founder of the Big Stick Fly Fishing Forum, will be awarding a new fly rod and reel provided by Loop USA, to a disabled military veteran currently participating in Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. The organization has 158 programs across the country, including the Seattle Division of the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System and the Madigan Army Hospital Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Lewis.

Big Stick Fly Fishing Forum’s creator Derek Bachmann committed to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) that he would donate a new rod to a disabled program participants each time 500 new forum members were added. On Saturday, February 15th the first rod will be given to a PHWFF participant at 11:00 AM at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Along with the rod presentation, Bachmann will announce that a fly fishing trip with Nathan Bailey of On The Fly Guide Service in the Southern Washington/Oregon area.
