0dae80c9-6d26-4db8-a562-2014fd8bb76cThe Redding PHWFF program held its second annual 2 Pattern Tournament and Fundraiser on the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd, 2016.

The two day event kicked off on a Saturday evening with a mixer that included a silent auction, live auction, raffles and games of chance. Sunday’s feature was the 2 Pattern fishing tournament on the Lower Sacramento River in Redding, CA.  Twenty boats floated the river, each with a participant, a sponsor and a guide as judge and referee.  Individuals and teams competed for the biggest fish caught and measured as well as the most measured fish caught during the six hour float trip.  The tournament was followed by a catered dinner and an awards presentation program.

Prior to the event, the Redding program hosted participants from the Long Beach program.  Long Beach participants competed in the tournament as well but also joined the Redding program for a fish out for bass at a local fishery in Redding prior to the 2 Pattern activities on the weekend.

Although only in its second year, the Redding 2 Pattern Tournament is destined to become an ongoing event. The Redding community, local sponsors, donors and industry professionals  have donated generously to the program to support our disabled veterans and disabled active duty service personnel through fly fishing.
