This special day, dubbed “Healing Saturday” will take place at local fly shops across the country in cooperation with the local volunteer-run PHWFF programs. The Southwest Region will be hosting events in Fullerton, CA; Las Cruces, NM; and Albuquerque, NM

Through offering special opportunities like entertainment, food, and all-things fly fishing Healing Saturday will aide in supporting veterans on their journeys to physical, emotional, and spiritual health. The PHWFF Long Beach program will be at Bob Marriott’s Fly Fishing Store in Fullerton, CA.  The shop is bringing in rod reps from Sage, Reddington, Winston, Orvis and Echo, and will provide a casting pool and demos.   Lunch will be provided and all proceeds will go to PHWFF.   The advanced rod building team of the Long Beach program will wrap an Orvis Helios 2 rod with the Healing Saturday logo for raffle, along with a box of great flies.  Contact Program Lead Carole Katz at southwest@projecthealingwaters.org for more information.

The PHWFF Las Cruces, NM program will be at Sportsman’s Warehouse.  There will be fly tying demonstrations inviting audience participation.  A rod will be raffled.   Contact Program Lead Ron Bellerose at flyfishnh@hotmail.com for more information.
