Oakwood, GA Program Lead Ron Thomas shares a bit about a recent outing to the beautiful mountains of northern Georgia.  The event included veteran participants from 4 different programs in the Georgia/South Carolina Region.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) veteran participants and volunteers from the Georgia/South Carolina Region gathered together during the week of Veteran’s Day to fish the waters of north Georgia and to enjoy a time of fishing, training and fellowship.

Noontootla Creek in Blue Ridge and Nacoochee Bend on the Chattahoochee River in Helen were the waters chosen for the week’s events.   Everyone enjoyed the beautiful north Georgia mountains, great BBQ and all of the big trout!  Thanks to Unicoi Outfitters, Noontootla Creek Farms, and the local Trout Unlimited Chapters (Blue Ridge, Gold Rush, and Foothills) for helping sponsor these events.
